The greater beauty lies there: self-care that also sees and meets the needs of others and nature. Below, you'll get a better understanding of what this means and how we've acted in this way since the company's earliest days.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
It all began with a strong interest in artisanal soap making on the part of Caroline Villar and Breno Bitencourtt, Souvie's founding partners. Making soap is a process that requires time, study, and patience. You have to mix the ingredients carefully and the result is unique every time. They both embarked on this hobby and the first ideas of entrepreneurship began to emerge. However, shortly afterward, she became pregnant with triplets. And on this journey of motherhood, Caroline found herself with few national product options for herself and the little ones. Bringing together the need for safe cosmetics and the affinity they had with handmade soaps, Souvie was born. Many studies have shown that skin needs differ only according to age. That's why the brand debuted with specific product lines: Pregnant and Newborn. The triplets Júlia, Igor and Caio are now 10 years old and the family of products has only grown. Today we have options for pregnant and breastfeeding women, newborns, babies, children, young people, adults and mature skin. Souvie was born out of a dream, a passion and a clear need.
SÃO BENEDITO FARM
We control our formula right from the ingredients. All our hydrosols and essential oils come from our own farm, Fazenda São Benedito, in Bom Sucesso de Itararé, in the interior of São Paulo. There we plant, cultivate, harvest and distill our Lavender, Chamomile, Lemongrass, Geranium, Rosemary and Basil. The entire farm is IBD certified and Ecocert recognized.
SOUVIE FACTORY
All our products are made in our own factory. This means total control over the process. There is no risk of cross-contamination, we only use approved cleaning products and each item is made with great care and affection. What's more, the entire structure has been designed to save as many natural resources as possible: the lights are rarely on and we reuse water.
ECOCERT GREENLIFE CERTIFIED ORGANIC
It's not enough to say that our products are organic and natural, we have to prove it. We use the Ecocert Organic Cosmetic and Cosmos Organic certifications to make our products increasingly transparent. Ecocert Greenlife, which is responsible for both seals, audits the entire manufacturing process. There is a list of prohibited ingredients, a formula reaction check, a list of strict criteria for raw material suppliers, a production protocol – which includes the cleaning material used in the factory – and standardized information on the packaging, among many other points.
